sleepless

August 27, 2007

I can’t get to sleep because I slept in the afternoon. And also I can’t stop thinking of the interview today.

The job sounded good – overseas trips, training and all that..coupled with the high level of stress. But I can’t seem to wait for the answer. Wait wait wait till the end of the week. Impatient me. Also, working on weekends a few hours on weekends do not sure sound good – but it seems that I may have to give up certain ministry positions. And also handing the responsibilities over to the younger people.

two more weeks to ord. whee! and the competition to life starts…

And oh, some shots from my street shoot last week!

Enjoy!

i need patience

August 19, 2007

I said this prayer last night.
“Lord, I need patience. Teach me patience. I need an answer now
And I stopped and marveled at my prayer. patience now? how funny since this prayer has been made a joke over the pulpit. But when impatience creeps in, you get worried and frustrated.. Shared with ex cgl about it today.. I seriously felt better letting it out..I’m definitely hoping for the best for the following week.

Amazing thing is that my BMT mates added me to a very packed MSN conversation..and they started saying about ORD..very much funny on how time flies, and those crazy days in training school.

What an almost unfruitful week.. Had the Sakae Sushi buffet on Monday then I realised that I have IPPT to clear on Tuesday – thank God, I managed to clear it with a silver. So another $100 more in the bank. I realised the second year of my NS life has been better – managed to milked the government of 3/4 of the prize money of getting marksman and physical fitness =) Oh yes, and doing 41 sit ups in a minute was a surprise – since I haven’t done any regular sit ups since my training school days – and my muscles still ache now.

And finally my baby is back from the service center. The technician was helpful to replace the lens head for me. I’m a pretty chor lor photographer I think. Haha.. The fireworks shoot was messed up..I had a really bad angle :( And it was crazy walking every where to look for a good spot :P

And oh, I’m hooked onto listening to Corrinne May’s latest album – Beautiful Seed :) I need to go to bed now, got to wake up at 6am and it is 1am now..

Jesus – grant me grace for the following week..

checkpoint three

August 11, 2007

Hello my faithful – if any – blog readers. I sincerely apologise with the disappearance. I always have lots of things on my mind to pen down, type down in this case, but I never had the time for the past weeks .

Finally, clearing my leave and off starting next week. I faced the difficulty and ‘challenge’ of approaching my new boss for it. I was praying desperately for it! Haha! And I got it with much ease – you bet! thank God :) I’ve more or less slackened and handed things over hopefully in a right manner. It’s another season of trusting God and a new season of transition, a place of being at the crossroads and weighing the different paths to go in life, in ministry and in my personal walk with God.

I rejected three job offers so far. The Lord spoke much to me about seeking His kingdom and His righteousness before choosing the right job – even though for 4 months. It sounds contradictory – I’m worried about cash flow problems (not that I actually have it) but at the same time, a nonchalant attitude about quickly finding a job. :) The first thing next week is to look for one – for sure and I hope.

I did a checkpoint and some target setting 2 months ago, and thank God I’m fulfilling most of it, at last 65%? I redid one – a to-do list. One of them is to take night photography and landscape photography. I’ve learnt alot from Marvin and Jane. They’ve taught me sooooo much.

090907. NDP – so much memories of last year’s NDP because my unit did it..haha! Funnily, I msged my previous boss – who was chairman show last year the day after national day. Planning to have a gathering dinner. Check this link for my last year’s coverage on my prosumer camera. The good memories of working till 1am, doing ‘props’ knocking in the parade markings at Kranji camp, facing hungry crowds and tying up the comms lines down the monsoon drain, up the trees and along the passage ways of the great national stadium… it was way fun back then..

This year, was a spectacular show – I watched from the outside with Mingli. I’ve caught NDP with her since…2003, except last year because I was at the stadium. It has always been great fun watching it with a great friend :) Not to leave out, fighting and wrestling with the crowd! :P I will call it a privilege.

My humble coverage this year..
