shoot away

May 22, 2007

I suddenly had the sudden urge to take my camera out to shoot..away my frustrations. Maybe it is the weather that is getting on my nerves, or it is the worries of not able to get into uniSIM or maybe it is the thought of the incoming boss that seems so unfriendly.
Flickr’s  7 days gives me some inspiration on how to take photos with better perspective and composition. I wished I had gotten my DSLR earlier. Like how I manage to get only blurry shots on my old camera because of the shutter lag during my days in school teaching.

Somehow my vision is blurred and I need to renew it. I ask, “How Lord?”.

Seriously, I need to drive away the blues.

“Jesus, You alone are my strong tower.

I’m a proud owner of a Samsung 20″ Widescreen monitor! Really a no-choice buy.  Haha. Pardon my messy table. But I tell you this panel is a monster. I almost got a 22″ but I was really afraid it may get too big for the family. This baby will get some time to get used to.

Was on off today, very reluctantly given off-day. But seriously I see no point in staying back as there is TOTALLY nothing to do as boss didn’t give any instructions to do it whatsoever! And taking the initiative may get an unpleasant experience after all. That’s the organisation – cannot stand it at all and I can’t wait to leave. 3 more months to be exact!

Went back to Gongshang Pri. today to facilitate a workshop for Community Services. It was reasonably okay but a tad too long. Students weren’t that mischievous but wasn’t that great either. But it was an enriching experience – I learnt something out of it as well. I rushed off to meet Tiffanie after that at Queenstown to have meepok – she said she had a craving for it – so we went for it. Sadly she is leaving for Australia later in the evening. I love mee-pok with ketchup and loads and loads of ketchup. Sadly no pictures! bah..

Braved the rain to go to Funan to collect my free anti-virus software which I don’t need – but I thought, whatever just settle all these menial tasks in one day so I dont have to worry. Who knows that I require some cutout from the box to redeem! Totally wasted my trip down there. Then bus-ed down to Bishan to get some from funkyb, guess what. They don’t have the shirt that I want, and it will only ship in in 6 weeks time, another wasted trip so I bought a black tee – pretty nice – at 28 bucks.

Quarreled with mom earlier on, seriously don’t know my mistake and she went hysterical. Sigh. I’ve been praying for the family and I read Reinhaard Bonkke’s testimony about his brother being saved and it brought tears to my eyes.

As much as I dread it, I’ve to return to camp now. The sgt major wants to see me tomorrow. Till the weekend. Cya

Met up with an ex classmate in secondary school who came back from Australia for a holiday. She wanted to check out the HDD prices at Sim Lim and I obliged to help her out, I also checked out the prices of the LCD monitors. Yeah, my 4 year old 15″ LCD has got pretty cranky – time for a 22″ widescreen from Samsung! :D :D

And we were talking about the things that happened and how people has changed for the worst or for the better – the people in our secondary two class, I think – Ms Ho was our form teacher yes Tiffie?! Haha.. Those days back in Fairfield were really enjoyable. CCAs and all that stuff! Oh so fun!

And on the same note, Mingli said on Saturday that she felt really old when she saw those wearing the school uniform. haha! And I realised that she is just TWO years younger. Haha! And yes, Anna is quite abit back there – young :P

Oh yeah, Mother’s day was just around the weekend. So thankfully I engaged the help of Mingli and Joy after zone service. Settled for a Tissot watch that didn’t actually burn a very huge hole in my pocket. Rudy was telling me about mothers when their children buy gifts for them….

Act 1

Son/Daughter buys a gift
Mother: AIYO, why waste money?! How much did you spend yadda yadda..
Son/Daughter: _________ (Fill in special occasion) mah! Happy _________ (Fill in special occasion).
Mother: …continues to argue that it is a waste of money while grinning from ear to ear!

Reflecting on today’s message, I so strongly believe my breakthrough is coming.. The third time it has been said. Now it must be fulfilled! Faith faith faith!

And now the picture of the weekend. Taken during service during icebreakers. Just observe how engrossed everyone is with their balloons! Hahaha!

Time to pray & sleep!
