walk by faith

February 25, 2007

I’m back after a long break. Chinese New Year this year is wee too quiet. Not the usual as it is in previous years. Maybe it’s the passing on of grandma last year. How fast time flies.

6 more months left in the army :)   I’m glad that it is pretty relaxed now. But somehow I’m worried about the university admission. I really don’t know why. Maybe my faith has wiltered over the long exercise and break. Worst part of all, I was sick on the second day on CNY. It didn’t make any thing better. Flu was on and off. In fact going out kinda made me feel better. Of course the step of faith by not taking medicine. Anyway the medicine didn’t help. Haha!
Shared in cell over the weekend. Yeah, it was hard when you need some refreshing yourself but God is faithful. And I’m grossed out by McDonald’s Fillet O’ Fish. Was out for dinner with the rest of the cell. The rest all went home. It’s sooo small and pathetically sized. Like how Alethia said – 1 bite for one dollar. I finished the burger in 4 bites. We scribbled on the box itself. So hilarious. haha. The meal cost 4 bucks. Boycott Mac! :P

Alethia comparing it with the curry sauce.. and belle turns away in DISGUST. HAHA

Went for first service and it was powerful really. Pst Yang preached during third service today. Was good. Like how Pst Daniel said it is very stale, I can’t disagree. But it’s time to move on for God’s outpouring.
Was out taking fireworks on the second day of CNY with Vincent. Some pictures! :) All shots were taking on handheld! :) And thanks to jeiwern and faye for having me over during cny :)

Signing off. Range next week! :) I’m the detailing IC. So I go FIRST! haha :)

finally over

February 13, 2007

I’m back! From that 8 days of gruelling exercise! It’s great. 7 days without a bath and in the same uniform! The smell was… gross. Haha! Seriously, after the 6th day we could bathe. And there is a difference in the people who went to bathe and didn’t. I kinda couldn’t take the stinkiness anymore – so i went on to take a good bath at 2am in the morning on the 7th day. Haha!

4 days of ‘war’. The most memorable sight was when I was at the back of the Chinook with another bird flying closer behind. Both choppers were skirting around the border. The HDB flats on the horizon. Beautiful. It was a crazy night that day. Really. The feeling was amazing when the comms was through after a gruelling walk a contour.

I’m glad it was over. You know God was with me through out. I know it. And He is changing me. A new season has begun. A new season of trust. Emmanuel, meant, God with us.” I know He is always with me.

After a weekend of ministry work and back at my second home (church).. God was speaking as always. Really treasure the times when He speaks to me. I treated myself to a new CD. woohoo! Paul Baloche – A Greater Song!

It finally rained today. Did catch up with old friends Vivocity. Met Janice (whom I haven’t seen since Feb 3 years ago), Pam and Ruth. Had a good chat and dinner at Marche. Boy the food was disappointing. No crepe was bad.. service and variety was worse. bleh! Went to Ben and Jerry’s for dessert. 6 scoops of icecream + waffle + bananas + brownies + toppings = foodie’s favorite. Cannot hiam anymore! Brilliant stuff! : )

Now to bed for a long day tomorrow. 6 more months to ORD! Cant wait!

Faith is all I need

hectic & go home

February 1, 2007

it’s an almost crazy week. some officer yelled at me and i yelled back and I walked away. He was too demanding and I didn’t knew what was exactly happening. That’s the organization I’m in. Some top people make funny and unreasonable decisions and you are left to do the unthinkable assigned. Sometimes these people decide things without a hint of common sense – totally brainless. While some people just do funny things that you get irritated with.

Watched the match between S’pore and Thailand last night at the Ops Room with some duty personnel and off duty personnel. Funny how soccer unites all Singaporeans – even how lousy the national team plays. But somehow the S’pore team played reasonably well by their standards. Seriously I thought the Thai team is pathetic. Totally lack of sportsmanship. Like the old saying goes, Balek Kampong (Go home). Go Lions in the second leg.

Electricity went off at my bunk last night. So my maglite was put to good use.Worst thing, everyone booked out. Toilet lights were out too. gross. I was too frustrated to go to bed and did prayer till boss replied my sms that I could take half a day off. Managed to catch the last bus home.

Frustration & irritation sets in and many will not see me as ‘christian-like’. And God, I’m still learning Your ways.

Till that silly exercise ends, I will have no peace. Haha! Till next Sat… I’ll be back with war stories to tell.
